The simple joy of a cup of "tea".
Good Morning,
Another week and another set of adventures. Part of this journey is to learn more about myself and to grow into myself. Often I have felt that I was a child inside myself, here I am bringing myself forward into my body and filling myself out, taking ownership of my own flesh. Some would say that I am taking my personal power back.
On a related note, the tea here is not actually tea leaves. Frequently, it is the simple herbs and fruits. For example, lemon “tea” is a simple combo of hot lemon juice and strips of ginger. Who needs tea leave? Sitting in a quiet cafe, sipping this simple mixture offers me an opportunity to change my perspective of what tea is, and on a larger scale, it gives me the opportunity to ask myself, “What is this idea of personal power?” is it something that requires complexity with special leaves grown and harvested in a special style? or is it just simple ingredients that need to soak in a little bit of hot water..
Here in Chisinau the tea is served with the same elegance that coffee is, with a design or flare. No food or drink is too simple to warrant a little presentation.
For me, it is a reminder that even the simple things should be served with reverence and respect. When we do something for ourselves it should be done mindfully and with reverence. Even something so simple as personal power deserves a little flare from time to time.
